Chef Alex Jansen has loved food since he was a kid growing up in Wisconsin. This cheese head knew cooking food was the way to people's heart and couldn't help himself to continuing his love. Chef Alex attended Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts where he studied principles and systems of Auguste Escoffier, the international culinary icon and source of modern cooking. Upon graduating Chef Alex immediately joined the team at Salt at the Ritz Carlton in Fernandina Beach as a line cook. Salt gained national recognition as being the top Ritz Carlton restaurant in the country and earned the 5 diamond seal of approval. Chef Alex eventually worked his way up to Sous at Salt, working on his skill daily. After 2 years in that position Chef Alex accepted the position of Chef de Cuisine at Alloro at the Ritz Carlton in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. He worked to create custom menus and cuisines to the newest Ritz Carlton property. After getting Alloro up and running Chef Alex decided to move back home to Amelia Island and pursue his love- cooking for people like you.
